Zip Transit System Bridges
The ZIP Shopping Shuttle is an innovative system that shuttles shoppers and employees between the three adjacent shopping areas as well as to the RTD transfer facility at the US 36/Interlocken Loop. A distinctive element of the system is twin steel arch bridges that carry the ZIP path over Flatiron Circle at both ends of the complex. These visually dramatic structures add to the distinctive character of the area. LONCO designed the bridges for the City and County of Broomfield. The twin ZIP Bridges not only serve as visual landmarks of the area but also serve a vital function in allowing the ZIP shuttles as well as pedestrians and bicyclists to travel safely and quickly between the shopping areas and transportation facilities. The Zip shuttle system is the first of its kind in the nation and LONCO is proud to have been a part of this landmark project.
