Yosemite Street Bridge

Yosemite Street Bridge

LONCO, Inc.'s bridge inspection crews noted diagonal cracks in the precast box girders of the Yosemite Street Bridge over 1-25. These cracks start near the face of the abutments at the bottom of the girders and propagate upward. These cracks were thought to be the result of insufficient shear capacity and combined with other deficiencies result in a low sufficiency rating for the bridge. LONCO was selected by the City of Greenwood Village to perform three tasks: a shear analysis, assist the City in submitting a request for federal matching funds and assisting the City in developing a scope of work for the engineering design work necessary for rehabilitating the bridge. Subsequent to this project, LONCO was selected by the City to perform the rehabilitation design and developed plans for the repair to the deteriorating portions of the bridge. Phasing of the work was carefully coordinated with CDOT Region 6 due to its impact on I-25 traffic.
