State Highway 119 Retaining Walls

State Highway 119 Retaining Walls

LONCO designed approximately 1,200 feet of timber crib retaining wall as part of an improvement project on State Highway 119 in Black Hawk, Colorado. The wall supported SH 119 and allowed it to be widened and realigned. North Clear Creek ran adjacent to the bottom of the wall. There were three sections of walls ranging in height from 6 feet up to approximately 30 feet. Timber crib gravity walls were selected on this project because they maintained the rustic character of this mining turned resort community just west of Denver. LONCO also provided construction phase support.
