MacGregor Bridge Replacement
The MacGregor Bridge carries County Road 205 over the Yampa River. This road is the only access to the county landfill and therefore had to remain open during construction. The existing bridge was a 5 span structure utilizing a combination of steel and concrete substructure elements.
The river makes a sharp curve just upstream of the bridge, which creates an active scour condition along the north bank. LONCO designed a three span steel girder structure and approximately 940 linear feet of roadway. The county received federal matching funds for the project so the bridge, roadway and right-of-way plans were reviewed by CDOT region 3. This project provides a substantial improvement to this important county facility.
