Yargus Manufacturing Blend Tower Design

LONCO, Inc. and ESI Consultants, Ltd. collaborated for the preparation of construction documents for the construction of three (3) towers that support 250 ton and 30 ton material storage bins and hoppers, as part of a Tower Blend System. The project included conveyor systems that transport the material from the ground to the top of the tower. Two of the towers were designed to allow railcars to pass directly below for easy bottom dispensing of the material into the railcars. Similarly, one of the towers is designed for dispensing into over-the-road trailers. The maximum height of the towers is approximately 100-feet and the height of the conveyors is nearly 150-feet. The project is located in California, therefore the towers were designed for high seismic forces.
