Maintenance Facilities
West Side Maintenance Facility Expansion
City of Joliet Public Works
LONCO was responsible for the design of the expansion of the existing West Side Vehicle Maintenance Building and yard for the City of Joliet. Structural Design required the preparation of contract specifications and plans for the expansion of the existing pre-manufactured metal building. Civil design required calculations for storm water runoff, detention and pavement design. The project required preparation of a site plan, grading and drainage plan and associated construction details while adhering to a specific phased project budget.
Roslyn Street Maintenance Facilities
Stapleton International Airport
This project involved the analysis and design of foundations for four structures requiring relocation due to interference with a new roadway and airport runway layouts. Two structures were two-story prefabricated metal structures; a third was an underground truck scale; the fourth was a five-story precast concrete fireman training tower.
U.S. Postal Service Airmail Facility
Denver International Airport
LONCO was responsible for major portions of the structural and civil design on this 60,000 square foot Postal Service project. The building was designed as a large warehouse, housing both loading docks and office space. The building itself was a pre-engineered building. LONCO was responsible for the design of the foundation system and loading docks. The foundation consists of grade beams on drilled piers at exterior walls. Interior columns were founded directly on the tops of drilled piers.
LONCO provided civil engineering design services for the parking lot, site drainage and utilities. Of special interest in this area was a storm water retention pond required for site drainage. LONCO also provided consultation on the parking lot design and the tugway drive-through.
