Bridge Inspection

Bridge Inspection

LONCO, Inc. has been in the business of inspecting, evaluating, and managing information for bridges and other structures for almost 40 years.  More than 25,000 of these structures ranging in size from 4’ to over 2,500’ have been evaluated by LONCO personnel.

Our inspectors are NHI certified which meets the National Bridge Inspection Standards.  They also have supplemental training in Fracture Critical Inspections, Scour Analysis, Pin Inspections, Heavy Rail and Light Rail Safety, Confined Space and Fall Protection, and have coordinated Underwater Inspections.

Overhead Sign, Traffic Signal, And High Mast Light Inspection

Prior to the onset of national awareness, LONCO began inspecting overhead sign structures on the state and interstate highways in Colorado.  In 2003, as a result of traffic signal pole and high mast light pole failures around the country, these structures were added to the work. To date, LONCO has conducted more than 20,000 pole inspections.

The recording and managing of this information uses a modified version of the Pontis application. LONCO is instrumental in the continuing development of the program to record, report and manage this information.

We also team with Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) certified technicians to perform more in-depth inspection using Ultrasonic Testing, Magnetic Particle and X-ray if needed.

All of this bridge and sign inspection work is intended to reduce the liability to the owner while setting a baseline report from which future inspections can follow.

The bridge and sign reports are designed to be comprehensive and specific to the structure including Load Capacity Ratings, Average Daily Traffic (ADT) counts, Pontis condition assessments, calculating Sufficiency Ratings, Maintenance Recommendations with estimated costs, sketches, and digital photographs.
