Concourse E Apron/Drainage/Streets
As part of a contract with the City and County of Denver, LONCO, Inc. was responsible for the civil design work associated with an aircraft apron surrounding Concourse E. This was a “fast-track” design process which included a 45-acre pavement design and a 5800 L.F. storm drainage system design, relocation of nearby streets and design of an elevated roadway adjacent to the second level of the terminal.
Particular attention was paid to the need for uninterrupted service of all utilities in the immediate area of the project. Due to location, size and timing of this project, extensive attention was given to construction phasing and project breakdown in order to disrupt airport operations as little as possible. In order to accomplish this, LONCO, Inc. was involved with the construction management process to eliminate possible construction and scheduling conflicts.
This work also included the coordination of four subconsultants during the design and construction phase of the project.
